On the morning of June 28, 2016, the fifth member congress of China Environmental Protection Industry Association was held in Beijing Guoerzhao Hotel. Vice Minister Huang Runqiu of the Ministry of Environmental Protection attended and made an important speech. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other ministries, leaders of the departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and directly affiliated units, as well as representatives of some news media attended the conference. More than 530 member representatives from all over the country attended the conference.

On behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Vice Minister Huang Runqiu congratulated the convening of the conference, fully affirmed the work achievements of the association since its establishment, especially the fourth council, and hoped that under the leadership of the new council, the association will have a high sense of mission. and historical responsibility, to meet the new challenges of community reform; to increase the "three services" to continuously improve service quality; to strengthen industry self-discipline, to lead the sustainable and healthy development of the industry, and to promote the development of my country's environmental protection industry to a new level and create new glories. The conference commended the outstanding workers of the 4th Council, reviewed and approved the work report and financial report of the 4th Council, reviewed and approved the newly revised "China Environmental Protection Industry Association Charter" and "China Environmental Protection Industry Association Membership Fee Standards" and Management Measures" and "China Environmental Protection Industry Association Rules and Regulations", and elected the fifth council and supervisory committee of China Environmental Protection Industry Association.​​​​​​​Fan Yuansheng, the newly elected president of the fifth council, said that he will inherit the fine tradition of the association, deepen reform, innovate and develop, actively work, continuously improve the service level, and promote the construction and industrial development of the association.
